Where are you?

Background is a stream-of-conciousness I wrote, it says:

I am sitting on the moon, where are you? Where are you? It's 2 a.m. and I wish you were here, to blot out the moon and drive away this stillness grinding in my ears. I wish you were here so I could tell you that dream I had, before morning scares it away like commitment to your affection. It's 2 a.m., it's too late to hold you and tell you how I felt that day when the stars kissed the earth and your lips sent my world spinning. You will never see anyone more than the day-time girl with a smile and a blind-stitched heart, not this lonely child who holds it to her lips and breathes and breaths and breathes...hoping to bring life to the butterfly-wing beat. I wrap the stillness about myself like a blanket to hold against the dread the next moment always leaves behind. It is 2 a.m. and you will never know the girl who sits by her window and waits with a hope more empty than the witching-hour air.
